Am i right in thinking that if you chrage a retainer then you have to be available and willing to mind the child over these times ie school hol?
well my q is that if you are charging a retainer because they dont want you to start until say 1 sept then is it poss you might end up having the child before that if parent changes mind? would the contact start when you signed it or from the date originally agreed ?
sorry for the ramble and i'm not sure i've even explained myself very well

Yes, you can only charge a retainer if the place is available for the child.

For example, you cant charge a retainer for a September space and then fill it with another child over the summer.

That is where a deposit would come in handy

So a deposit is a one off fee that holds the place and you keep it if they change their mind- and if they dont then it comes off their fees. but you can have the space filled by another child ie when they are giving you notice but you will have the space available when the new one is due to start?
have i got this right?
sorry for all the q's just trying to get my fees and charges sorted today!
thanks for the help
