Hello

Do I need a gateway number?

I was organised enough last year to ring up in advance and request one.

Totally forgot this year!

Can I use last years? Do I need one or have I imagined it?

IIRC your government gateway number will remain the same from year to year. It's supposed to be a single "pas key" to all the government sites, but I have separate ones for the HMRC self-assessment and Ofsted/SEF sites.

You use the same one each year..

Agree with the others - You use the same number every year to access any gateway service

Oh thank goodness, now I just have to find where I put it last year rather than ring up request another and wait ages.
