What paper work do i have to do?

I have a 4 year old boy & a 6 year old starting next Tuesday. What paperwork do in have to do for them. Is it just a learning journal or is that optional?
Ofsted at pre reg told me not to do lots & lots of paperwork! I had showed the a daily diary and a learning journal & she seemed happy with them.

Not sure what is required. Also where or when do I have to do a self assessment form?
