Hi there
I have printed out the EYFS Development matters booklet for each child and highlighted along the left hand side, when each child is able to do what is set out in each section. This gives me a starting point for observation an planning. Is this OK though? Each child has a book..

As long as you are not using Development Matters as a tick list then it's fine!

DM is a guide - an idea of the type of things the child might be doing - they will be doing lots of other things as well and those are just as important.
