What are the requirements as far as radiators? Do they need to have covers or do you keep them on a low heat?

You need to risk assess according to where yours are and how hot they get and whether they have temp controls on them. We are not required to just have covers on all radiators.

For example I used to live in a flat. There was a radiator at the end of my hall and it did not have a thermostatic valve on it so it got very hot. I just used to put a thick towel over it when I was childminding to shield the head and the crash if the ran into it. lol

The house I am in now has never needed any kind of covers on any radiators.

I adjust my radiator thermostats so they don't get too hot. If you don't have radiator thermostats you should be able to adjust your boiler thermostat so the radiators don't overheat.

Thank you for clearing that up. We are moving house in the next few weeks so will have to check the radiators in the new house
