Recently read the blog on here about schemes and I'm hocked! I keep noticing them while children are busy playing. I'm going to make a note of them for their Lj and read more about planning for schemes. But is this the same as characteristics of learning? Am I right in thinking both of these are how the child learns through play?

I read that thread too and now I can't find it!!!
I wanted to go back to it ...do you remember where Sarah posted it???

You can definitely link them to all 3 CoEL very well...schemas show engagement, motivation and critical thinking.

Thank you Cherry! :clapping:

There are lots of different characteristics of learning - schemas are definitely one of them because they tell us how the child is learning at the time! :D

So if I included the child's schemes into their Lj is this good enough to cover characteristics of learning or are they really two different things to include in their Lj? X

Love schemas... tell all my parents. They are not throwing to be naughty but throwing because they have to as part of their development.

So give them soft things to throw, have a throwing box... etc..

Amazing. Im always talking to them about it.
