Does anyone know how long it takes to register an assistant. My friend is registering, who works in a nursery so has a dbs, not sure how long ago it was done.

If its a dbs I do think they are now transferable between settings if she has paid for it to be updated. If its a crb then you will have to pay for a dbs.

This thread by Sarah should answer any other questions but how long will it take I don't know.

Ofsted told me to allow 10-12 weeks.

It took 8 weeks from the time Ofsted received the EY2 for my assistant to get the suitability letter. If it isn't a new updating DBS check then it will need to be a new disclosure and there is a charge.
