Hi all,
Just wondered how people end their Learning Journey folders when children leave? Was thinking of a sort of' where I am now/all about me now' type page, but all the developmental stuff was covered in LO's recent 2 year check, so would only be repeating myself, or a fairly personal and informal letter to parents maybe?

I should explain that child has left already, will be passing LJ on...so already sent 'last day' pics to parents, and made photo book for child x
What do you do?

I normally do a brief summary with the most recent photo I can manage of the child at the top.

Have you got an example of your "little poem" as someone was asking on here last week for one and I have a lo going to school in September? :D

just posted this on another thread. found this this morning and its in all my LJ's and in their present parcels.

REMEMBER

This is hard to say but I will try
Goodbye (child), Goodbye

Will you remember times with me in your earliest years?
It’s important to me you remember them with smiles not tears

Remember the time when you were small
Remember the times when we played ball

Remember the times we went for a walk
Remember the times you just wanted to talk

Remember the times we played in the sun
Remember when we had lots of fun

Remember the times we laughed out loud
Remember the times we found pictures in the clouds

Remember the time you ran outside
Remember the times you fell and cried

Remember the times you played with your friends
Remember the times you never wanted your play to end

Remember the times we sang together
Remember the dancing forever and ever

Remember the times we read from our books
Remember the love behind the look

Remember I care about you and all that you do
Remember I’ll be waiting to hear from you

Remember I want for you only the best
Remember I know you can do your best

Love forever

how many do you have leaving honey?

I have three moving up to school full time in September...so have been getting all LJ's ready to go and was looking for something to 'end' their time with me and this fits fantastically :)
Sad time tho as they're growing up and won't need me as much :(

Hi, I do a summery of their present development level, I put this as the last page... I have a binding machine and put the whole thing together as a book taking out all the development sheets (give those separate), I add in extra pages of photo's at different ages with a little note (look at you there, you were....).

I give a personal present, a card and I write a letter to the child....... Dear E, You are moving on to...., I know you will make friends very quickly as you are such a lovely friendly girl/boy. I remember when .... etc.
