How to amuse a big age range???

Hi , I have 5 children, ages 8,6,5,3 &1. Any ideas how to amuse the older ones the same time as the littlest ones??? Especially on rainy days?

All ages can enjoy crafty stuff and paint and play doh etc. Baking too. Sensory stuff like pasta or gloop etc. All ages will have fun on different levels.

Last Summer I persuaded my big kids (DD9 and DS7) to come to various playgrounds with DD1 by getting them to do a "rate my playground" based on how good (or not) they thought it was. Could do a variation - how good it is in the rain. I always go out, rain or shine, makes life much easier, especially with older kids. If they're not climbing the walls after a day indoors, I certainly am!

Think I need to get more creative with my crafty stuff. We do a lot of playdo and colouring but need to step it up a gear :-)
