I have started minding 2 children, aged 6yrs and 4 yrs.

1. Do I need a learning journey for the 6yrs old she spends 3 hrs with me after school and on most occasions she just wants to go to the park or read a book.

2. The 4yr old is in per school all day and I have him for 3 hours as well.

So, what do I need to do for both?

Hi :)

You only need to do learning journeys until the children start full time school so no you don't need to do anything for the 6yo.

Re the younger child, assuming they are at nursery more hours than they are with you throughout the week?
The nursery will be doing a lj and you just need to support that with a few obs and I would take lots of pics too and make a scrap book. You should be sharing info with the nursery too so a contact book is always useful where u can jot down obs and current interests etc. I find it useful to have a meeting with nursery & look through lj termly.

As Becci says nothing for the older child.

For the younger child I suggest a scrap book / memory book as well. Where possible try and find out what is happening in nursery and use it to plan from - it will help you during your Ofsted inspection :D
