Can you tell me minders what your fees are for:

Drop off pick up form school? I charge £4.50 per hour per child.

I need to work out my daily rate for children.
Can you tell me your daily rates???

I'm planning to look after a 7 & 9 year old for 2 weeks 8am-6pm each day (brother & Sister)
What would you charge each week???

Thanks very much x

I charge £3.50 an hour, for however long they are with me. I don't do day rates although I know others who do.

Is £4.50 the going rate in your area?

For those 2 weeks I would charge £8 per hour for both kids which works out to be £80 per 10hr day.

I don't reduce my fees for siblings.

Hope that helps you.x

i charge 3.75 per hour and that's for all day too.
i do offer a full time discount of about 5% and have offered a sibling discount too as will only have the two after school for an hour possibly two and as i need the money i decided that a discounted rate was better then mum going somewhere cheaper.

Thanks for the replies.

Parent was paying another childminder £4 per hour plus an extra £1 for snack.
So when she came to me she paid the same but I'm not sure what to charge for the whole day as it will be alot of money for both children at this rate.

Any ideas??

I just charge per hour and work out the day rate from that. I dont have a discounted day rate but offer 10% discount for siblings

Most families get help with childcare costs so I wouldnt worry about it being too much plus you have to think, if you didnt have them for the 2 days you could have a full time mon-fri full day child...if that makes sence
Remember you are running a business and need to earn an income as well
