Hi, I am a new childminder trying to get everything in order before my 1st inspection. Thinking about Diversity - does anyone have a calender of events with all the "normal" important dates on - so I can plan activities? Hope that makes sense!! I have looked on Google but can't seem to find a simple version!! Thank you, Jo x :)

You need to make your own, appropriate to the children in your care and the profile of the community in which you live.
Use these as a basis for your own calendar:
BBC - Religion: Interfaith holy days and festivals calendar (http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/tools/calendar/)
Holidays and Notable Special Days in Great Britain UK 2012 (http://projectbritain.com/calendars/)
I think inspectors are keen to see CMs actually thinking this through for the needs of their individual setting, rather than just working through the usual 'token' checklist of black dolly, Diwali and a bowl of noodles at Chinese new year. :(
