Does anyone know if it is a requirement to have a register of assistants time alone with children please?

i believe it is.i cover this by having a register for assistants(DH made it on the pc)and a space saying working independantly and a box for time

you'll have to ignore my logo etc ..i couldnt work out how to get them off and my tech guy (DH) is asleep on the sofa

It is not a requirement of the EYFS to keep a register of assistants.

HOWEVER you might have to provide evidence that your assistant is not alone with children for more than 2 hours a day ... or you might need to provide evidence of when your assistant was working with you and you were over your normal numbers... or a child might make an allegation against one of you but you can prove you weren't working that day because you keep a register of attendance...

For lots of reasons it is very important that you keep a register :D

When I had my last inspection the Ofsted inspector asked to see my assistant register. Mine is really simple, date, assistant name, times worked and sole care - I just put in times and childrens names
