Dev matter progress query

Hello

Do we mark whether a progress towards achieving a development matter is emerging, developing or secure?

Someone said that they only do this in school but seems a good idea to log the progress somehow

Any help would be great

If you want a load of extra paperwork then do it and if you feel logging it would help in your understanding of where the child is developmentally. Some LA's provide these type of development sheets and may suggest you use them...... you don't have to tho, find what is best for you.
The statements in DM are only a very few of the things a child MAY be doing at any one age/stage and are helpful suggestions of what next steps may be. The only place I use these words ... emerging,developing or secure are possibly in the 2 year check as they are "positive " words and can help when discussing with parents.
