A parents' view of the Truss plans

Some parents went to meet Ms Truss to talk about her plans.

Here is a blog from one of the parents - she is focussing on the entry requirements for childcare (maths and English gcse) but she does touch on a few other issues as well.

Good to see how the parent appreciates her childs childminder. Like she says, I dont think we need GCSE in maths/english, an understanding of how children learn, and how to help them grow and develop is an absolute essential. I am all for education for early years practitioners, but is a 20 yr old GCSE helping me at all ? I dont think so :)

And please don't ask me to take the exam again cos I will be on the scrapheap !!
