Hi I'm new to this site and just finding my way around! Wish I'd found it sooner as it looks full of advice and ideas. I've been minding for just over 3years in hampshire and started on the level 3 yesterday. I think I struggle with knowing what to charge parents ph and for meals if anyone has advice about that it would be great.

Welcome to the forum little Nippers.

It is very difficult to advise you on what to charge because of regional differences. I charge £30 for a full day and include meals and £20 for a half day BUT what you need to find out is what other childminders and nurseries in your vicinity charge as they are your competition.

Do a search here - if you click on the provider's name their details are displayed and some include their charges

I moved down from Stockport near Manchester and been here for 5 years (ish)

I've just been told by one of my parents that they didn't think they had to pay me in half term as they are off work. I have her three children after school 2 days a week. What is the norm for payment during half terms please? :-S

That depends what you have put in your contract for their hols :-)

Hello nipper :-)

I had put that I have two weeks off and they have the two weeks off so its half pay for that but the rest of the time I'm working so its full pay. The lady said she didn't see it like that :-( going to go and see her one evening to make sure she understands the contract properly.
