£140 is reasonable for someone that knows what they are doing. I have known childminders claim back thousands of pounds in overpaid tax using my advice after paying so-called accountants fees of less than £100.

I pay £90 to my accountant and she puts this through as an expense for me too....she has warned me that it's that amount as I keep an organised record of all of my receipts/direct debits etc otherwise she would charge a lot more as it's an hourly rate i'm being charged for.

I paid more than that last year, about £250 I think and he didn't manage to save me any money although he promised he would!!! My friend used the same accountant and paid £60 a month, so that's cheap in my opinion.

cheap cheap cheap it seams to me...

I think the amount they charge reflects in the amount of work they have to do. If it is any consolation, I know of a minder who was charged £1000 last year because her invoices/receipts were all over the place.
