Hi, so I was on a course yesterday and some other CM had been told by their CO to claim paperwork hrs in their tax returns ? They were suggested £6 per hr 10 hrs a week.

So I mentioned it to DH n he said not poss as u will still have to declare the income u earn ur self by paying ur self £6 per hr for doing paperwork.

Which sort of makes sense- has anyone got any clarification on this.

Also it was v briefly mentioned if u claimed sch runs on tax rerun as mileage u were classing yrsf as a private hire tax n have to apply for a licence :-0 - again any clarification would be gr8.

Thanks in advance xT

No, you can't do this.

No, you are only classified as a vehicle for "hire or reward" if you charge the parents specifically for this service.

Thank you - I thought it sounded too gd. What DH had said made sense but these other childminders were advised by their LA team, so thought it may be a possibility.
