when to do my 1st tax return?

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but when would I do my first tax return, I started childminding April 30th 2012, so not been minding a year yet. I have registered online, but I am unsure of when my first return should be done :blush::blush::blush:

Hi you will need to do one for the tax year 2012/13 when it ends on the 6th april. have everything to hand when you do it on line and
it should go smoothly :thumbsup:

It's a good idea to do it as soon as possible after the end of the tax year (which officially ends on 5th April but it is usually easier to end on 31st March if you bill your parents monthly), but the deadline is the end of October if you do it on paper, or the end of January of the following year if you do it online. Whatever you do, you don't have to pay any Income Tax or Class 4 NI due until that same 31 January.
