I was under the impression that you can, but I'm just new to this too, so don't take my word for it!

There's a factsheet on Ofsted's website that might be useful:

Ofsted | Factsheet: childcare - Registration not required (http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/resources/factsheet-childcare-registration-not-required)

Hope this helps! :)

How long ago did you send your documents away? I've sent everything off and just waiting for my pre-reg visit at the moment too!

You can if the rules say you can in the booklet danielle has linked in her post... however you might struggle to get insurance without an Ofsted registration number.

Ofsted normally recommend people wait because if there was an accident or something and you are not insured and moving towards registration it would cause lots of problems...

Hopefully things will move quickly for you! :D
