I'm off to my sisters shortly for a family get together, so I have made her some Cakepops as a surprise!

Wow they look amazing! I have never made a cakepop before - how do you get the perfect balls? Do you have to buy some sort of special tray?

They are very easy to make Samb.
I make a plain chocolate sponge and when it's cold I crumble it up into a bowl. I then add half a tub of ready made chocolate frosting. Mix it in and it will form a dough (like play dough). I then roll the dough into balls the size of a small walnut.
Put them onto a baking sheet, melt a little chocolate and dip the end of your sticks into the chocolate before you push them into the balls.
Once you have put the sticks in, pop them into the freezer for half an hour.
After half an hour, take them out of the freezer and dip them into melted chocolate and cover all the ball.
You can then leave them to set ready to be decorated later or you can dip them into sprinkles or chopped nuts or edible glitter etc straight away before the chocolate sets.

To stand them up, you can get ready made cakepop stands from cake shops/eBay/hobbycraft etc or you can push holes into an upside down shoe box.

If you google Cakepops, it will give you loads of decorating ideas.

HTH
