using video to record Obs

Hi

Was wondering if anyone uses video for observations?
I have captured some of the children playing and shared with parents via email. I am looking for ideas how I can link/add these to the learning journals. Could I add a usb and reference to it.

I would transcribe it and add the info to the children's files, show parents and then delete it once it's no longer required.

Information about children - any information including photos and other images - must only be kept for as long as it is useful - I confirmed that recently with the Information Commissioners Office.
