I have been reading online a child care establishments policy on this, and they say that if they cannot contact parents or emergency contacts, then they call an ambulance. I feel this is a bit extreme if a child say has vommited and upset as I know emergency services are stretched. Just wondered what others put in their policy? Xxx

It depends on whether it's a true emergency or not I suppose.
I have 3 contacts for each child plus parents... I have never got to the end of the list with any of them... but if I did I imagine I would just carry on.
However, if it's a proper emergency I would be ringing emergency services anyway, not messing about with trying to contact parents until the child was sorted out first.
Hth :D

Same as Sarah!!! If emergency dial 999 the parents. If non emergency try parents followed by others on list!! that gives me 5 people to try in most cases so unlikely I wouldn't get one of them!
