They're really good! I've just done boring ones with biscuit cutters that the kids have painted themselves.

Oh, that's fab! We did salt dough today as well with christmas cookie cutters. What paints did you use?

I have been doing these - we are at the drying out stage - I partly did it in the oven but after 3 hours in a gas mark 1 oven some where starting to rise and brown on the bottom and others were still soggy in the middle! Mine feel really heavy so I don't think they could be used on the tree. I am hoping they come out as lovely as yours!

Not sure i did mine right ,they only took just over one hour and started to go brown but they are rock solid so fingers crossed. Never done salt dough before !!

I used-
1 cup salt
2 cup flour
1 cup warm water

Supposed to cook at 200c for 3-4 hours but mine were done just over an hour. You could google as loads of recipes on there hth xx

I also made these they look superb, Im wrapping them up with a little verse attached for the children to give as gifts
I used 1 cup flour 1 cup salt and just enough water to bind it, cooked on high for about 45mins

i love these, make them every year with mindees and date them. I use gold or red paint and then glitter them to death whilst the paint is wet :laughing::laughing: My two make them too so now we have lots of them on our tree - one from each year I've been minding ( a few of them didn't survive the loft - not cooked properly I think) but it's lovely to pull them out.

Some of my midnees have more than 3 or 4 now too and still hang them on their trees every year. just made one today with 2 year old mindee (she was sick last year) and was tellign her how I used to make them with her big brother.

The recipe my 9yr old mindee found said you could microwave the salt dough, about 3-4 mins! Ours worked great!
