What would you class as decent observations and what would you class as "so what" observations?
I found this statement online and it has made me think about the way i am doing my observations. I also had a chat with somebody today who said exactly the same thing.
"Freddy sat at the sticking table and chose some orange glitter and stuck it all over his model"....I'd say "So what? What am I going to do with this information? How will it help me plan something else for him to do? And do I need to record this.....have I got other examples of this type of activity he has engaged in? If so, I don't need another one for quite some time!"
Ide love to hear your views on whats a decent ob and whats a so what ob.
I think that i write far too many "so what" observations and think i need to reduce what I am doing.
