Taxi recommendations for Manchester please

my friend and I are going to Manchester tomorrow to see David Essex get his Lifetime Achievement award from the Variety club We are staying at the Travelodge sports city and need a taxi to the Apollo Hotel around 6 .30 and then one back around 1 /00 am any ideas please dont want to ripped off.

Street cars always seem to be popular if you want a private hire.

Otherwise your hotel should have a company that they use and trust.

To be honest it's only a 10 minute ride I'd probably take a passing black cab they are on meters so you can't go far wrong.

Seriously though, I would ask the hotel to book one for you, or like Sarah says the black cabs are metered, but they can still be a bit expensive - agree your price before they start driving x
