I am trying and failing to sort out my policies and procedures folder. I wanted to group them for eg all policies that relate to children's safety would go under safeguarding but now I have got stuck for the others:( I read somewhere on here about putting them under certain headings from the EYFS but I can't remember what they were or find that thread. Would be very grateful for any advice.

ive split mine into 2 sections, the ones we HAVE to have and these are in alphabetical order and then all my other ones which are also in alphabetical order, I tried putting them together in groups like safeguarding, complaints etc being together but i found it too confusing let alone what the parents thought :laughing:

Mine are in alphabetical order too! I used to have them under the Every Child Matters headings but this is seldom mentioned these days so I changed and tbh I find it much easier to find things

I am surprised everyone has theirs in alphabetical order. Mine are in the order of the every child matters list, which i found really helpful. But i am now struggling with this list. I might just bite the bullet and aphabetise it too.

thanks

Mine are all in one document and sort of read in order of the child/parents time with me and hopefully follow on relating to each one it precedes.

So for example i start with Admissions, Settling in, Working with Parents and other settings, Fees ...... and leads right up to Ending your contract.

As much as they are a policies and procedures document, I try to write it and include information as if it were a handbook or 'Guide to using my service'.

we have ours under the new safeguarding & welfare requirements. Ofsted don't require them in a particular order you just need to be familiar with them & know where to find certain documents when asked to do so

Hi,

My policies are in alphabetical order at the mo. You could cross refer your policies with the Statutory Framework for the EYFS.
e.g. Section 3,

3.04 is about Child Protection
3.09 is about Suitable People
3.42 is about Medicines
3.45 is about Food & Drink
3.48 is about Accident or Injury
3.50 is about Managing Behaviour etc etc

You organise your policies around that???

hope this helps you x
