I thought we'd do both of the above but am a bit stuck, especially for wimbledon. I thought we could make a fruit punch for drinks and obviously we'll get out the tennis etc but not sure what else we could do.

oh we'll put some tennis balls in paint and do a large scale version of marble painting lol. Anyone any ideas what else we could do?

Also for the olympics I'm stuck apart fro mdoing like a sports day kind of thing, not sure how to follow it up with crafty things though:o

Olympic Flags

Show your children some pictures of flags from countries around the world. Encourage them to tell you about the colors and designs they see in the flags. Set out construction paper in a variety of colors. Let your children create their own flags on the construction paper with crayons, markers, stickers, and other decorative materials. Tape each child's flag to a cardboard tube.

Olympic Torches To celebrate the opening of their Olympic Games, have your children make
"torches" by wrapping cardboard tubes with aluminum foil. Help them put strips of yellow and orange tissue paper in their tubes for "flames."

Hold your own backyard olympics/party. Have ball toss(shot put), frisbee toss (discus) tumbling, races on foot on skates and bikes... Have the kids make flags from different countries to carry during opening/closing ceramonies. Be sure all the kids win medals.

Sport Collage Mural Materials: -large mural paper -magazines with pictures of sports & equipment -scissors -glue & glue sticks Procedure: Group of children cut and paste sports pictures onto mural paper.

Just some things that we have been doing

Hope they help
