Hi, I have just applied through NMCA to do my CPOP5 and am dreading it. Most people seem to be saying it takes a lot longer than 12 weeks, there is no support and it's harder than a degree. Can anyone reassure me that it isn't that bad. Also you cannot register with Ofstead now until this is complete.

I don't know what it is like I'm afraid as I started minding before the CPOP5 was born. However, don't despair, there is plenty of support on here. You'll get though it :)

No it isn't that bad really. Just work steadily through it. This is a good book and it will help you if you decide to go on and do the full Diploma.

It will help you set your business up.

As an experienced cm I had to do this Unit as part of the full Diploma. It took me 8 hours, 27 sides of A4, plus all the supporting documents like Polices, RAs etc.

If you need any help then just come and ask on here I 'm sure you will be fine.

It's definitely not that bad! I have to complete mine within 6 weeks, so far I'm at 2 weeks and am close to finishing. There isn't a lot of support, but it's nowhere near as difficult as a degree. :)

I have second session coming up this weekend, have so far only attempted Task 1. Find it confusing how it is all worded I am hoping to have more light shed on it this week. Apparently our council prefer us not to do the multiple choice one - (allegedly much easier) Great!

I have been on with this process now for four months, sometimes it feels like I am nearly there and then I feel like I am back to square on - it seems like a long road. Can't wait to get hands on!!

Our council is the same, i asked about the online courses and they said they are not specific to each area so by going to college i will get all the info i need for my area. I am dreading the work also, right now i feel very shocked at the amount of information i need to know.
Will have to see how the next few weeks go :panic:

I was going to do the online course it takes you to level 3 as I have a baby so will be easier doing it from home, has anyone done this and what will I have to do next? Many thanks everyone xxx:):)
