I am due a new mobile contract. I have never put my phone through as an expense, but as it is a legal requirement to have a working phone is this possible?

Currently I am on the cheapest contract of £15.50 with orange, and to be fair most of my texts and calls are to parents or other childminders!

Is their any guidance on this? I have no idea what phone to go for next it's a mind field:eek:

I put all calls and texts through that are work related as an expense as well as a percentage of my line rental x Works out about £15 a month for me (give or take a little each month) as my line rental and calls usually is between £30 and £40 a month x HTH x

You can get whatever you like. At the end of the month get your itemised bill and work out the calls that are childminding related and the percentage relating to the whole bill. Take the business percentage of calls and texts and of the line rental

eg

Bill is £40 per month

150 personal texts and calls
92 business texts and calls

£40 divided by 242 = .165 per call x 92 = £15.18 claim

Mine is nearly the same percentage each month so I just check is 6 monthly

You also can do the same for your home phone
