I live just north of burton on trent and we are in the middle of a tremendous thunder and lightning storm, it has been going on for more than 15 mins, my back garden is flooded and a couple of minutes ago you couldn't see anything it was raining so heavily. The thunder and lightening seems to be moving away now thank goodness:eek::eek::eek:

Hmm, I don't think I will plant my seedlings today then! I hope we get here down south when the children are back from school - I love a bit of drama and hysteria!

We had this about 10am, I was on way with mindees and 2 dogs to local farm for a ramble.
We got stuck!! Couldn't see to drive. 3 year olds excitement quickly turned to panic. As it slowly moved over I could just about see enough to turn around to get home. It was difficult to see where the road was as to the footpath. Got home and waded through inches of water to get to door.
Sun shining now.....water all drained away?? and 3 year old saying, 'can we go to the farm now? are we going yet?' May be give it a little more time for roads to clear.
I have to admit I was a little scared:eek: I think it took less than 2 mins from first drop of rain to a torrent and zero visibility.

Depending on which weather forecast you read it may or may not be heading this way after lunch! BBC weather says sunny all day with highs of 27 but weather.com reads noon onwards Thunder Storms :D

Ledbury had it at 9.30am this morning, great to watch from indoors but gutted because we had to cancel our listening walk to the local country park!

We saw the torch in the dry..but we could hear the thunder rumbling. by the time we walked back to school we were dripping. My coat was soaked through to the lining and the colour has run all over my dress and my arms. its red so it now looks like I have some strange disease! Stopped just as i got home - typical!
Didnt it actually put the torch out in mansfield?

Yes we went, not as early as I wanted to, I waited for the worst part of the storm to pass, the lo's slept through the torch passing by though.
I got some pictures to show them what they missed though
