I am pulling together a list of quotes from supportive companies /other professionals / organisations.

So far I have something from...

- The shadow education secretary

- Chief Executive of the Daycare Trust

- Chief executive of the National Day Nurseries Association

- Chief Executive of 4 Children

- Childcare.co.uk

- Morton Michel

... Penny have PPA made any pronouncements supporting childminders?

Has anyone else said anything positive about the campaign / negative about deregulation plans that I might be able to use?

Thanks guys! :D

No not yet Sarah - I wonder if my contact at PLA is not around as not responded to other emails - I know they have plans and are working on them and should be getting back to me any day now.

Will email him again NOW

Have sent email to Tesco and Sainsbury's asking them yto promote pointing out that their employees use childminders

its quite possible we might hit 4500 sigs before bed tonight!

Th at would be excellent but the main thing is there is still a steady stream of people signing up.

I have been to a NCMA local meeting tonight and Christime explained to everyone present about the petition (some were aware, others not) and she handed out leaflets to everyone - one for them and one to give to a friend so hopefully there will be more signing.

Miffy xx

you know I am absolutely LOVING how everyone is so 'at one' with this. My Facebook is absolutely plastered with the petition link - and childminders from a wide cross section of my network are signing, sharing and proactive in seeking support. I don't know any other trade, with such a large number of individuals who work for themselves, who can work together in unison to create an end result. Seriously we should be very impressed at how we have in a week managed to manuovere this much support - individually we are have little power - but together we are a force to be reckoned with - we should remember that when we are faced with future adversity on our profession. :clapping:

I cannot believe what I actually read over there. How people come up with such ridiculous views about childminders is beyond me. I need to step away from that place before I pop.
