I've just signed my 1st child up (just turned 3 years old) who i only have once a week for about 5-6 hours, how do i go about doing obs? I don't feel that i'm going to be able to do many as he's not here for very long.

Take it slowly - play with and alongside the child and get to know what he likes, dislikes, interests him etc.

Those are your initial observations and next session you can provide activities you know push his interest buttons... those are his next steps.
