Hi. I have just sent my registration forms off to ofsted and want to get some policies underway before they come out and visit. What do I need policies and RA for? Also do parents have to sign policies?
Thanks

Policies are what tells a parent how you will 'run' your business, in effect.
A risk assessment is how you ensure your setting is safe, or trips to the park, etc
One way to do a risk assessment is to get down to a child's height (on your knees) and go round the house, room by room,
seeing what hazards there are - wires, plugs, exposed corners and so on
Is it a high, medium, or low risk
What can you do to minimise the risk
Have you started your CYPOP5 course yet? If not, don't panic, things like policies, procedures and risk assessing is covered in detail on the course
Ok great thanks! No I havent started the course yet. I have just done my fist pets policy and think I did ok!
