Change Word into PDf

Sorry if this is in the wrong place - and completely off subject.

I want to be able to send my policies, etc on CD to parents instead of/aswell as printing them off but want to make sure changes can't be made to them.

Does anyone know how I change a Word document into a PDF one? Or a document similar to it so that nothing can be amended?

You can download a program called "open office' FREE from the internet, this has equivalents of word excel, powerpoint etc and is very easy to use. In the word equivalent you can export any document into a PDF very easily.

I always go to 'print' then at the bottom of the print settings there's an option to 'save as PDF'.
