There was a thread a while ago about expenses and what can go through etc. There was a comment about someone advising them that for expense purposes they can buy £9.99 worth of ice cream everyday throughout the summer from the icecream van and claim for it?

I have been thinking about this... not about actually doing this but more about do we actually need reciepts for this because although it is under £10 it is food kind of food?? Or is it different? Just can't imagine asking the ice cream van man for a reciept

receipts for food are only for food standards for hygiene reasons, nto bookeeping reasons.

I think if you were putting down £9.99 every day without a receipt then HMRC might be a tad suspicious:laughing:
