Hi everyone, I am so pleased with myself I just had to let everyone know. I have just managed to cut my car insurance down from £495 with Halifax to £318 with Shelias Wheels all including, business insurance, told them I was a childminder and needed to be covered for other peoples children, protected no claims and legal cover. Oh I have a 2002 Nissan Terrano.:clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

Nice one!:clapping:

My friend got a good deal with Shelias as well! But I can't remember the exact reason but they wouldn't touch me, perhaps its because I hadn't had my own insurance for a while:(

yeah pip they will only cover anyone with 5 years no claims i think

has anyone tried layton blackham they are exclusively for childminders and the quote for my car a 2.2 litre renault espace is £255
which is only £4 more than last year

they also cover the car seats and like for like in a non fault accident and only £100 excess can you tell my insurance was due this week

becareful with sheila's wheels make sure on your certificate it either mentions childminding or business class to be sure they really understood what you wanted

they quoted me £275 on their website last year but when i called to buy the insurance and they discovered i was a childminder they upped it to £380
why because children are a distraction and distractions cause accidents

I have just got all my documents in the post and the first thing I check was 'occupation' It states Childminder. And I have just rang them to double check the use of my car. i.e taking minded children out and about. It is all OK so very happy now I saved so much money. Just wish I had the money in the first place so I could spend it:laughing:

I saved £250 a few years back now by going with www.its4me.co.uk and also got £20ish cashback by going through a cashback site lol
it includes business use and insurance on contents like car seats, pushchairs etc :D

Insurance was about £270 fully comp and the car is a toyota estima which is an 8 seater. Hubby was amazed lol
