'the sky' theme

Hi guys,

I have planned to do 'the sky' as a loose theme for november, mainly because on of my mindees is obsessed with it.

i plan on doing kites, aeroplanes, fireworks activities but my mind has gone blank, has any1 tried this theme out and got any suggestions for activities?

I like this. Have school inset day today so have just thought of a couple of things to do.

Splash painting for fireworks, kites, balloon printing, icing biscuits with balloon shapes and also making biscuits in balloon shapes & planes.

We also have the fiim up which the big ones can watch.

You could make a simple sky bingo or memory game with clouds, sun, rainbow, birds, stars, moon etc.

You could look at the differences between the sky at night & daytime. dont forget sunrise & set. Talk about places where it dark for months and then light for months - oh and the northern lights!

Make cloud mobiles - maybe with a rainbow too.
