Default Have you bought any resources this year?

I know lots of us here are trying to cut down on buying resources - so how are we doing so far this year?

    I haven't bought anything yet (I know it's only 7th Jan ).

I do miss the library though as a top up to my own book collection.

I bought something in December but it hasn't arrived yet, so at least I have something to look forward too. I ordered one of the wanderlust boxes. Has anyone else bought one? I know a few of us did the course. It's a bit of a funny once because you don't know exactly what is in the box, but it's also quite nice that there is a surprise element to it. I got the one at the beginning of December - there were some lovely things in it - was it worth the money? Mmmm, not sure. I had a money off voucher for her shop which is why I ordered the February one. Has anyone else ordered one?

My resolution to not buy anything new didn't last long!

I bought a couple of books (who can resist books?) but had stopped myself buying anything else until I had the GSL sale catalogue come through. I've now got some lovely number resources, some flower stencils and bits for the mud kitchen

I've decided that rather than stopping myself from buying anything, I've got to get rid of something each time I get something new. I'm not working tomorrow so I'm going to sort out some things to sell

I'm a bit wary of mystery boxes. I like the idea of them but always end up a bit disappointed.

Nooooooooo ... don't tell me about wanderlust boxes! .. I didn't know about those!

Ummmm... I've bought some fortune cookies for Chinese New year .. but they'll get eaten!

I ordered a new storage unit, as my current one is fine, but I CAN'T get any new boxes to fit it ( mine are all breaking ... just those cardboard and fabric ones. I even costed up buying fabric/ card and making my own and in the end it was cheaper to buy a new one. I'm hoping to put old frame in garden for something! ) it arrived today, but I'll wait till weekend to build it.

And today I 'won' a new happyland toadstool house, .... I've got a few little girls obsessed by fairies, and sharing a pumpkin house just wasn't working

I lasted 7 days! But I'm planning on trying to stick to not buying any new resources. I found though, that in lockdown last Easter, I ended up buying new toys as I was bored of everything as all we did was play at home/ in garden, where as we usually spend a lot of time out and about! ...

Good plan Mouse ... to make room for a new toy, by moving on something else!

I have a shed full of resources that don’t really get used so my New Years resolution is to use them and rotate resources and not buy anymore. At the moment I’m digging some out to “lend” to DD1 to occupy the younger one whilst she home schools the 6yr old.

I dont tend to buy many new resources.
I think last year I brought a new board game.

I have told my afterschoolies I will get them some lego. My children never got into lego so it is something I will buy.

Other than that I do want a manual typewriter and a dial telephone but I'm waiting till can find them for cheap

    I haven't bought anything yet.

Maza I did see the Wanderlust boxes and wondered if they are worth the money as you don't know what you will get.

Mouse I love books and we have so many currently stored all over the house so I am trying hard not to get anymore but I keep seeing some lovely ones on instagram

I have a few things on my wish list including some large blocks (they are so expensive) I would like to replace my play kitchen as it gets used everyday and its now looking a bit tatty but all the excessive cleaning isn't helping it either.

I think the new Cosy catalogue is on its way too which always gives me loads of ideas!

Think I’ve b ought two books since December .i really would like some wooden number boards? And wooden numbers / letters but they are sooo expensive.

Keep seeing things on Instagram too which is really annoying 🤣

I do try to make things out of card reused boxes/ packaging. Which is why I can’t live without my glue gun/ Velcro dots!
