Waterproof suits

M looking to buy some waterproof suits, does anyone have any recommendations?

Or is it better to buy waterproof trousers?

I have all in one suits for up to 2yr olds then waterproof trousers/jackets. But actually I ask all parents to provide their own plus wellies which stay at my house. :-)

I like muddy puddles and regatta are good.

I ask parents to provide waterproofs.
I recommend waterproof trousers with bib and braces/dungaree style.

That way, they can wear them for water play/mud with just a Tshirt on top in summer, or add a kagoul in rain, or a thick winter coat in winter- much more flexible than the all-in-one rain suit.

In warm weather I would not want to put a full rain suit on a little one to be able to splash in muddy puddles, too hot and sweaty.
Likewise, I find I need to layer fleeces etc under rainsuits in winter which I have to ask parents to provide. When they actually have a good winter coat with a hood anyway I'd rather they wore that. Put waterproof dungarees over winter coat and all warm and waterproof where is is needed.

I brought mine in Lidl when on special. jackets £5.99 and trousers or salopettes £4.99. Parents happily paid.

Mine are by regatta.I don't feel I can ask parents to provide these so have always provided my own.

I asked parents to make sure Los had waterproofs last autumn and pointed them in the direction of lidl where I bought for my dd. problem was they turned up here with waterproofs very erratically leading to many wet feet arriving at school. I don't really want to have them here as I have 3 children of my own to lose bits for but I do need to think of a way of making the parents understand that we have to walk quite a way on the school run (further than they have to when they do it as I have to go to 2 schools and they only need to go to one!)

I ask that wellies and water proofs either stay at my house ( they live in a bag in my understairs cupboard ), or come in the childs bag each day. if the child gets wet on the school run/out & about, so be it, and I change them at home. if they usually have their stuff, then I will use mine, but if the parents are repeat offenders then sometimes sending childs clothes home wet/having to ask parents to bring spares reminds them that I do actually need them to bring the waterproofs!

I got a bit of a strop from dad last year when he turned up in pouring rain with 2 lo's and no wellies. It's one thing for the little one that was going to be mostly in the pushchair and hen coming home with me but I really did get fed up with dropping off a wet footed 4 year old (who is magnetically drawn to all puddles!) to school. Perhaps dad needed to actually do a few wet school runs to get the hint!
