    Default Counting Songs

    Hey Guys

    I am having trouble collating a nice collection of counting songs (I have a couple in ascending order and loads in descending) but I really want a few more ascending 1-10 as it seems much more important to teach younger babies to count to ten before counting backwards - if any body has some suggestions, I would appreciate it! Thanks in advance xx

    I can think of just a few:

    One potato, two potato,

    12345, once I caught a fish alive,

    1, 2 buckle my shoe,

    And my favourite is that one from Sesame Street;
    1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12 ......11,12
    Look it up on YouTube if you're too young to remember it! It had a pinball animation.

    The pirate ship song (when I was one I ate a bun, the day I went to sea..)
    Ten green bottles
    Five little ducks
    Ten fat sausages
    The ants go marching one by one
    One, two buckle my shoe

    Welcome! the fireman song and the indian song are 2 of my faves-the kids love the pirate song as there is lots of bouncing around!

    Don't know zoom, zoom, zoom but will have a look for it - the monkeys and saucers one are counting backwards songs but thanks anyway!

    is that one little, two little, three little Indians? I am not even sure we are still allowed to use the word indian? So I have avoided that one - don't know the fireman song either hope I can find these on youtube. x

    No we are huge Sesame Street Freaks in this house and even before I had my children I would find myself suddenly singing this catchy number some 25 years after it was first on TV!! They still show it on new episodes now!!

    I don't think there is a problem with indians? Children just think along the cowboys and indian lines here-I think pc'ness can go a bit mad! Can you change indians for another word if you don't like it?!

    The fireman song-
    5 little firemen standing in a row 1,2,3,4,5 they go hop on the engine with a shout, quicker than a wink the fire is out.
    4 little firemen standing in a row 1,2,3,4 shhh they go, hop on the engine with a shout, quicker than a wink the fire is out
    Just keep replacing the number with shhh till you get to 1 little fireman standing all alone......

    We have a leapfrog toy that sings the 10 little Indians song, but replaces Indians with leapfrogs, i.e. 1 little, 2 little, 3 little leapfrogs...
