His mum calls him a geek as he is into computers and brings his Nintendo ds3d he tell me he has no imagination. The only thing I know he likes to do is build dens? Help !

Have you an army museum near you. My older kids love it, even to girls, and there is always extra crafts , treasure hunts or assault courses going on during the holidays.
The preschoolers love it too, not sure they know whats going on, but they have a good time.

My local one is at the REME base at Arborfield, but think they plus other armed services museums are all over the country.

    Where abouts are you?
Agree with above about army bases, museums etc
Or local woods where maybe you could build a den etc

Lol that's funny as we live on an army base in suffolk and his dad is the army. But No army museum near here otherwise it would be a good idea. We do have a lovely river front so could have a walk down to there.

Most 8 year old boys, especially geeky ones, like Lego (I should know, I have one!).

Can he not build small dens in the garden. Give him loads of boxes, material, sticks, string etc. then ask him to build say 5 dens for the little ones to hide in. Give him paints to paint the boxes so he can get creative. Tell him he has to make them safe for little ones and get him to think of any dangers (such as string) and how he can minimise risk. He might enjoy the thinking that goes behind the task, give him paper and pens for his designs.
