Activities for EYFS Areas of Learning

Children can really build their fine motor skills with threading games.

Lacing Cards:

You can buy ready made lacing cards but it's fun for the children to make their own.

Get the children to draw an animal or item on a piece of card - it needs to be quite large - about 6" x 6" minimum.

Make holes around the edge of the drawing using a hole punch or by piercing with a blunt pencil.

Using cheap shoes laces allow the children to thread through the holes, they will love seeing their picture edged with lacing.
