Henna Tattoos or Mehendi is the traditional Indian art of decorating the hands and feet. It is very popular in India, particularly important at events and occasions.

Mehendi designs are very detailed and fine. The leaves of the henna plant are used to make the reddish-brown stain.

You can make a Mehendi pattern with the children without drawing on their hands, you will need:

  • Paper
  • crayons

Get the children to draw around their hands or feet on a piece of paper, small children will need help.

Then simply fill the drawn hand or foot with various designs and patterns and colour them in.
