Cache NNEB

I did my Dipolma in Nursery Nursing (NNEB) in 1999-2001 and passed but I can't find out what the equivalent is now.

I have e-mailed and phoned CACHE and no one ever gets back to me about it.

Anyone any ideas?

Its a pain as no-one at Cache ever returns my calls to let me know like they promise.

i don't know about cache but the nneb is def level with an nvq 3. it bugs me slightly as nneb is a 2 year full itme course and nvq 3 isn't can't see how they can be equiv

Didn't know that - I assumed they were both the same. Is the NVQ less or longer?

NVQ can be as long as it takes. It's a qualification that is taken whilst you are working, so rather than just answering questions you have to actually show how you are able to do things by being observed by your assessor whilst in your work environment. I am doing an NVQ level 4 and it's been just over a year, I hope to finish soon, but I could have finished earlier if I hadn't been doing the level 3 DHC.

i think they are both different really, the nvq is mainly work based with written assinmnets and monitoring in your work place. The NNEB is (or was) half of 2 years worked in college and half of the time on placements including, nurseries, reception classes, special schools and one to one with a baby.
