    Default Child Protection Training

    Hi there,
Does anyone know if you have to do Child Protection training, and is there a timescale that it should be repeated? Am trying to find out as am feeling abit over busy already doing DHC Unit evening class and trying to sort out my accounts, get ready for first inspection etc.
    Thanks

If you are offered child protection training then it's a really good course to attend.

You should also have some training as part of your ICP course.

It should be updated every 3 years to keep the knowledge fresh.

Ofsted like you to have done a course if possible, outside of your ICP.

My college were offering a Level 3 in this subject but it only lasted 3 years. I would do one when you can.

I agree a day course (or 2-day) course would probably be enough as it gets out of date so quickly. A level 3 seems a lot.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I will try and get on a course soon (am on a very long waiting list now for the next course available), but at least I don't have to worry about getting it done before my inspection.
I am covering some of it on the DHC - keeps the basics in my mind.
