Default HELP!! Little Tikes activity cube. How do you dismantle it?

    Has anyone got any ideas?

I have sold my Little Tikes activity cube and need to take it apart. Anyone got any ideas how to do it? I can see HOW it should be done, but the pieces just will not move.

    Any ideas?

I had same problem putting mine toegther last summer, I used a rubber mallet, my husband and lots of turning the cube until the right side was on the top, then one hold the cue while the other knocked it out.
I remember mine being filled with rain water which spilled out all over, and smelled horrid.
    Good luck

we used to have at toddlers that we built and took apart every week ( it didn't fit through the doors of our storage room otherwise!! )

i don't know how anyone else did it, but i used to find several well aimed kicks at the 'joints' whilst having them upside down did the job

the one we have at toddlers you have to stick your foot in one bit and pull the other bit up as you dismantle it
if you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got

I got one off ebay and we used the same technique of kicking, hammering and shouting to get it apart but when I got it home it went together really easily

How funny! I sent DH to collect an activity cube for me this evening. He was out for ages and when he got back he said that it wouldn't fit through the person's house so they'd had to take it out over a neighbour's garden fence! We were having a good laugh till we realised it wouldn't fit through our front door or side gate!!

We tried to take it apart then I googled "how do you dismantle an activity cube" and this post popped up as one of the first results! I forgot I'd had the same issue all those years ago!

Anyway, with the use of a hammer and a screw driver we got it apart and rebuilt in the back garden, only for me to notice that one side had originally been put on upside down. DH said to leave it, but I couldn't and said it had to be dismantled again. At that point DH disappeared off indoors

I just read through this whole thread, not noticing the original dates and thought all the old members had returned for a chat!! Brought back lots of memories of past members that we don't hear from for one reason or another

I've been considering selling my activity cube too, but I'm afraid that as soon as I do I'll take on some little mindees who would have loved it. The children in the past have really, really loved it.

How come you decided that you needed one again Mouse?

I'm tempted to get one! I've never had one but I'm going to take down my swing and slide climbing set as it isn't used much and I live opposite the park! Plus my own children are too big for it now.
I think/ feel I need a slide type toy for the garden and I think the cube is safer than a slide on its own.

For a few years I had mainly older children (3 and 4 year olds) and the cube just didn't get used, so I got rid of it.

I'm back to having little ones now (1 and 2 year olds) and decided they would probably like it. I did have a slide for them but noticed that they preferred to climb and stand at the top of it rather than just climbing up and sliding down. I thought the cube would give them more opportunities to climb with less emphasis on the sliding. It's been very popular this week and the children have hardly been off it.

My cube is very popular and they love standing up before sliding down.
