Default One of those lovely parenting moments...

Which don't happen that regularly when you're me!
Today I got a lovely warm feeling when I realised that a decision I made about home schooling my 4 year old was soo right!!

We've been working on times tables which he has grasped fairly quickly over the past week and today he sat on his own and did random 10 and 5 times tables sums, working them out on his own and getting 100% right first time - he did 40 sums in 400 seconds according to the timer (on the website i wasn't timing him! lol) From what I have since discovered the 2x, 5x and 10x tables are generally started in Year 2 - he would have been going into reception this september so he's definately not struggling!!

And, just to ease the social side of things, he made random friends with a similar aged boy at soft play this afternoon and spent ages playing really nicely with him - he doesn't usually make friends with strange kids as he likes to know someone first.
    Blessed Be!

That is lovely, you know your child and you have obviously made the right decision for him.

A little Einstein in the making and he will not be held back in his education because they dont do that until year such and such

i know! lol I need to start brushing up on the rest of my maths skills as he will definately overtake me soon! he's so cute as well because he hates being helped with anything so he's started doing his counting up in silence so i can't point out if he's missed out a number... he'll occassionally go too fast and go like 5,10,20,25 before he backtracks!

Glad he's enjoying his home schooling. Not all schools hold kids back though, dd1 got picked up early with math and literacy and does work for her level in her peer group. Have fun. X
    Come back David....
