Default Bit off topic, cub scouts?

    Hi,
Is anyone involved with cub scouts, was just wondering if there are names given to the sixes, or are they just red six, blue six, etc.
My eldest is in Scouts, they have animal names like wolf, stag, etc. and just wondered if there is anything traditional like this for cubs.

    Thanks!

My son attends cubs and is in blue six which also relates to the color of his woggle. No animal/pack names for his cubs group.

As PP said it's just colours for sixes. Sometimes the leaders go by Jungle Book names (or they did when I was a CSL a few years ago). i.e Akala, Bagheera, Balloo, Kaa etc

I have been a Cub leader/assistant leader for 10yrs now and the two groups I have been with have only had colours for sixes in Cubs. All the Leaders have names from the Jungle book.

Mine is Hati the Elephant. I have also been Akela, usually the Cub leader is Akela even if they have another Jungle Book name. Confusing isn't it

The general Tradition is that you don't have two leaders in the same Scout Group with the same Jungle Book name even if they aren't currently working with the Cubs.

    Thanks everyone!
We have the traditional leaders such as Akela, Baloo, etc, was just trying to think of a way to 'gel' the youngsters in their groups and thought we could try something a bit different. But if tradition says colours then that's what we'll do!

I would love to do something like this, how does it fit in with childminding?
Do you take mindees with you or to do you after you have closed?
