Default For those of you with a Kindle

I am thinking of buying one but am interested if you can access either facebook or msn via them, then I would only need to take that on holiday to keep in touch instead of laptop.

    answer..no

    its not a net book.

It lets you download newspapers, blogs and books from amazon and as PDF from your computer.

I have a kindle and it is my pride and joy. It takes some getting used to...i still try to "turn" the pages instead of pressing the buttons.

Yes its 111 quid and that is a lot of money BUT if you read as much i do its worth it. I miss the physical "ownership" of a good book. But with space issues this has been a godsend

Erm, I can get internet on mine! To be honest, it is not that useful. It is not touch screen and there is no mouse - so you have to use a cursor to navigate around web page - and it is all in black and white.

Kindles are great and I would not be without mine, but I would invest in an i phone or android phone if you want decent internet access without a laptop.

Why do you need MSN or Facebook on hoiday anyway? Surely that's the point of getting away from it all ... all you need is sea, sun, sand, a sunbed, Sangria and sexy time

Sorry don't mean to hijack the thread but which one is best for a 9 year old?

She's addicted to reading, even took her dictionary to bed the other night and we've talked about getting dd one for her next birthday.

Ive got the 3G one and can get internet on it too.

Carol - Samantha uses mine and loves the fact that she can use the audio version and have the books read to her whilst shes reading it.
